Masrin started working with DGFC in August 2018 as a research assistant. He heard about the job vacancy from a friend and got a contact number that he eventually called. He was involved in work related to wildlife before he joined DGFC when he was working in Sepilok as an orangutan keeper. Although he doesn’t speak English fluently, he enjoys learning the language by speaking with people from other countries that come to the centre. Masrin says it helps improving his English speaking skills.
